I was visiting a few new groups this morning to see if I wanted to join a few more. I am appalled at the audacity of people sometimes. The phrase "your work must be outstanding" is QUITE subjective and a pretty unfair stipulation to put on people's submissions! Those 5 words kept me from joining (what appeared to be) a couple of pretty awesome groups..
As a member of QO, your art will NEVER be judged by what I think is good/bad/outstanding/crappy.. lol That's not what this group is about nor will it ever be. Never, ever. This week, I've had enough rejection (outside of dA) to last me a lifetime.. This is our quiet oasis.. and it's a good place. You will never be judged here.

Submission Limit Change
Hey Folks!
We have grown to so many members that it is necessary for me to drop the number of daily submissions down to 3 per day. *If you are a contributor, you still have unlimited submissions at this point, although this may be subject to change as well.
Thank you all for submitting your beautiful photos and artwork and please don't let this change discourage you from submitting to the group. :) Also, if you want to be a contributor, please just let me know.

Contributor Invites
From time to time, I may send out invites to regular contributors to become a listed contributor here. ALL that means is that you can send your photos to the group as you upload them. If you don't want to be a contributor, that's cool, just say no or decline the invite... it's certainly no reason to leave the group (sheesh... some people are kinda touchy - who knew an invite could be such an offensive thing).
If you want to be a contributor, let me know.

grr... sometimes I'm not all that crazy about heading up these groups. I will never understand some people's actions or words. *sigh* Ah well.. that's them and there's nothing I can do about that, I suppose.
.. just wanted to bellyache.. lol
Vacation
Hey Everyone!
I'm going to be on vacation for a few weeks and probably won't be around the group very much. If the Featured folder gets full, please submit to the overflow folders until I get back.
I'm going on a Zoo vacation - starting with flying into St. Louis Missouri, going to the zoo there. Then on to the Nashville Zoo, the Louisville Zoo and perhaps down to Atlanta If I'm feeling adventurous. It's been a long, long time (2007) since I've left Alaska. I really don't want to go, but suppose that I need to visit my mother while I still can. :)
I'm going to open the blogs up in case anyone has any announcemnts or contests they'd like to

I don't even want or bother submitting to ANY Group who has an elite attitude.....It wouldn't matter if I had the Most AWESOME camera and photoshop skills....their "haughtiness" would keep me from joining/submitting.
DA is a Social Media dealing with Art......sure, some people do bookcovers, cd covers, magazines etc....but I would guess, they do this Without DA and have a DA account to Expose ALREADY good works in that particular job market.....
And I do AGREE with the above person......anyone can take a Nikon D90 (heck it cost about $800+ dollars, have CS5 Photoshop (and YES, heavily, unrealistically photoshop Nature) and people are gulliable and will SWOON over that picture......Yet, Nature doesn't look like this in person.......there are NO super Bright, Bokeh, artistic blur in REAL LIFE-IN REAL NATURE.......So, I agree, what would their TRUE skills be without ALL this help???
It shouldn't even be called Photography.....it should be something more dealing with ART Skills........
